Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) illustration using 11 x 14″ (28 x 35.5cm) Ampersand scratchboard and acrylic (eye).
Scratchboard is a white clay board coated in black ink. The black ink is then scratched away using various fine tools to expose the white clay.
The Koala is now officially listed as Endangered in Australia with populations at risk from a number of factors including disease, clearing of habitats for development, climate change and bushfires.
